Summer Stephens Killed in Tyler County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 92

Tyler County, Texas (October 9, 2020) – Two people were killed in a head-on collision Wednesday night in Tyler County, one mile south of Fred, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash occurred at about 7:15 p.m., October 7, on FM 92.

According to a preliminary investigation, Summer Stephens, 33, of Kirbyville, was driving a Hyundai passenger vehicle southbound on the highway while Daniel Summerlin, 46, of Woodville, was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck northbound.

For unknown reasons, Stephens crossed the center dividing line, and the Hyundai crashed head-on into the Chevrolet.

Both Stephens and Summerlin were pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
