Teen Injured After Car Crashes into Home on Bethune Drive in NE Austin

Teen Injured After Car Crashes into NE Austin Home on Bethune Drive near Interstate-35

Austin, Texas (September 30, 2020) – A teenager was injured early Tuesday morning after a hit-and-run driver crashed into a home in Northeast Austin, according to police.

The crash happened around 1:45 a.m. September 29, in the 7600 block of Bethune Drive, off 183 near the I-35 interchange.

According to police, witnesses said they saw a vehicle leaving the 183 service road at a high rate of speed and plow right through the side and out the front of the home.

A teenager who was sleeping in the home was hit by the car. They were taken to the hospital by a family member.

The driver fled the scene on foot. The authorities are still looking for them.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
