Three Injured in Texas City Five-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45 near Holland Road

Texas City, Texas (June 10, 2021) – Three people were injured in a five-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Texas City, according to the police.

The crash happened on June 9, on northbound Interstate 45 near the Holland Road exit.

Police said a van rear-ended another vehicle, resulting in a chain reaction collision involving several other vehicles.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the wreck.

The van driver had to be extricated from his vehicle and was airlifted to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other people sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Officers said the van driver will be cited for failure to control his speed which carries a penalty of up to $200. 

The crash remains under investigation.
