Timothy Edwards, Tammy Kennedy Injured in Head-On Collision on State Highway 105 in Beaumont

Timothy Edwards and Tammy Kennedy ID’d as 2 Seriously Injured in Beaumont Car Accident on State Highway 105 near Tram Road
Beaumont, Texas (April 9, 2019) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the driver and passenger who were seriously injured Sunday night in a head-on collision in Jefferson County as Timothy Edwards, 30, of Dayton, and  Tammy Kennedy, 21.
The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7 on State Highway 105 near Tram Road.
The DPS said a 2008 Nissan passenger vehicle driven by Edwards, was heading westbound on State Highway 105 when as of yet to be determined reason it crossed over the center median and into oncoming traffic. The Nissan then collided head-on with a 2005 Ford pickup truck that was traveling eastbound.
The force of the impact caused the Nissan to roll several times and trapped its driver. Edwards had to be freed by firefighters.
Edwards and his passenger, Kennedy, sustained major injuries and were both taken by ambulance to CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth, where they were listed in serious condition.
Derek Petree, 43, of Beaumont, who was the driver of the Ford, was unhurt in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
