Laverne Qualls ID’d as Woman Killed in Nacogdoches Pedestrian Accident on Park Street near Crisp Road

Nacogdoches, Texas (January 4, 2020) – The woman who was fatally hit by a vehicle Tuesday night in Nacogdoches has been identified as Laverne Qualls,44, of Lufkin, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 9:00 p.m. on December 31, on Park Street near Crisp Road.

Police said Qualls was attempting to cross the street when she was hit by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Jimmy Dewayne Watts.

Qualls was declared dead at the scene.

Watts remained at the scene until the police arrived.

The crash remains under investigation.
