Two Dead after Plane Crash in Gainesville

2 Killed in Gainesville Plane Crash near Gainesville Municipal Airport

Gainesville, Texas (July 29, 2019) – Two people were killed in a plane crash Sunday afternoon in Gainesville, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. July 28, near Gainesville Municipal Airport.

FAA said a Piper PA-34 crashed while preparing to land at Gainesville Municipal Airport. The plane crashed about a quarter-mile from the runway and it burst into flames.

Two people were on board the plane.

One person died at the scene. Another victim was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas where they later died.

An investigation is ongoing.
