Vernon Roberts Killed in Pecos County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 285

Pecos County, Texas (October 16, 2019) – A man was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Pecos County, north of Fort Stockton, according to a local news release.

The crash was reported around 11:00 a.m. October 12, on Highway 285.

Troopers said a Chevrolet Suburban sideswiped a semi-truck on the highway, before rolling over.

The impact caused the semi-truck to catch fire.

The driver of the semi, Vernon Roberts, 69, of Washington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
