William Devauri Ames Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at South 7th Street and Urbantke Lane in Copperas Cove

William Devauri Ames ID’d as Victim in Fatal Copperas Cove Hit-and-Run Crash at South 7th Street and Urbantke Lane

Copperas Cove, Texas (January 19, 2020) – The identity of the pedestrian who was killed Monday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Copperas Cove has been disclosed.

The police identified the victim as 32-year-old William Devauri Ames.

The deadly accident occurred on Monday, January 13, at the intersection of South 7th Street and Urbantke Lane.

According to the investigators, Ames was struck by a vehicle, driven by Lance Tyler Anderson, at the intersection.

Ames was killed in the crash.

Anderson fled the scene after the accident. He was later located, arrested, and charged with an accident involving personal injury or death.

Anderson was arraigned on January 14 and was issued a $100,000 surety bond.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
