Woman Struck, Killed by Vehicle near Westpark Drive in Houston

Woman Killed in SW Houston Pedestrian Accident near Westpark Drive

Houston, Texas (June 11, 2022) – A woman in her 20s was fatally hit by a vehicle Saturday morning while looking for her cellphone in southwest Houston, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 3:42 a.m., near the 8302 block of Westpark Drive.

Police said the woman dropped her cellphone in the car, and the driver stopped in an unprotected median.

While the woman and the driver were looking for the cellphone, the woman stepped out of the median and into the roadway, where she was struck by a vehicle.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The driver who hit the victim was not intoxicated and cooperated with the investigators.

No other information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
