Yolanda Castillo and Alicia Flores Killed, Humberto Martinez and Michael Flores Injured in Donley County Crash on US Highway 287

Donley County, Texas – Two people were killed and two others were injured Sunday morning in a crash in Donley County, according to officials.

The fatal crash happened around 12:32 a.m., December 17, on US-287 approximately three miles east of Clarendon.

Officials said a 2013 Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway and struck a traffic sign. It then traveled back onto the highway and was driving slowly in the outside lane. A 2013 Nissan Altima failed to control its speed and rear-ended the Dodge.

The pickup drove into the southbound ditch where it came to a stop against a barbed wire fence. The car left the road and traveled into the center median, where it came to a stop.

The Dodge driver, 32-year-old Humberto Martinez of Memphis, Texas, was taken to BSA with serious injuries.

The car driver, 43-year-old Michael Flores of Memphis, Texas, was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries.

One of the passengers in the car, 60-year-old Yolanda Castillo of Memphis, Texas, was transported to Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries, where she later died.

Another passenger in the car, 77-year-old Alicia Salinas Flores of Memphis, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
