1 Dead, 1 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 290 in Bastrop County

One Killed and One Injured in Bastrop County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 290 

Bastrop County, Texas (February 20, 2020) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Bastrop County, according to the authorities.

The crash was reported around 7:44 a.m. on U.S. Highway 290 near McAcres Drive.

Authorities said a 2015 Ford crossed into the eastbound lane in a construction zone and crashed into a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

The Ford driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The Toyota driver was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin for treatment.

The crash closed the highway, which has since been reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
