Seguin Man Richard Bennet Among 2 Killed in Cibolo Car Crash on FM 78

Cibolo, Texas (July 3, 2019) – One of the two people killed in a two-vehicle collision early Sunday morning near Cibolo has been identified as Richard Bennet, 44, of Seguin, according to a local news source.

The incident took place at about 2 a.m. Sunday, June 30, on FM 78.

Authorities said Bennet was driving a 2005 Jeep Wrangler on FM 78 when he, for unknown reasons, drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming 2005 Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck towing a flatbed trailer.

The impact caused the Jeep to roll over and ended up ejecting Bennet.

Bennet and the driver of the Chevrolet were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

A woman riding as a passenger in the Chevrolet was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.

The authorities are investigating the incident.
