1 Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 83 in Abilene

One Hospitalized after Abilene Crash on Highway 83 near TNT Fireworks

Abilene, Texas (July 1, 2022) – One person was sent to a hospital Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision in Taylor, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The wreck happened at about 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, on Highway 83 near TNT Fireworks just outside of Abilene.

A large commercial truck reportedly got onto Highway 83 and traveled southbound when it was hit by a pickup truck. Authorities said the commercial truck driver did not see the pickup truck, causing the crash.

One of the two passengers in the pickup truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The driver of the commercial truck was charged.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
