59-Year-Old Woman Killed in Waco Pedestrian Accident at North 17th Street and Columbus Avenue

Waco, Texas (April 13, 2022) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Waco, according to police.

The fatal crash occurred at about 4:53 p.m. in the area of North 17th Street and Columbus Avenue.

Waco Police said the pedestrian, only identified as a 59-year-old woman, was hit by a vehicle under unclear circumstances.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver involved stopped at the scene and rendered aid to the woman.

No further details regarding the crash were immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation.
