One Killed in Royse City Pedestrian Accident on FM 2642 near SH 66

Royse City, Texas (September 12, 2020) – A person was killed Friday evening in a pedestrian accident near Royse City, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 9:50 p.m., September 11, on FM 2642, south of State Highway 66.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on the highway when it struck a pedestrian.

The Jeep driver stopped after the accident and called 911.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

No other information was available.

An investigation is underway.
