1 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 349 in Martin County

One Injured in Martin County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 349

Martin County, Texas (July 8, 2023) – One person was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Martin County, according to the Texas DPS.

The crash happened on July 7, on State Highway 349, 1/10 of a mile south of the intersection with SH 176.

DPS said a truck tractor with a trailer was traveling southbound when it was rear-ended by another southbound truck tractor with a trailer that was transporting diesel fuel.

The truck tractor transporting diesel fuel caught fire and burned after the collision.

Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles and the driver of the truck transporting fuel was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
