Jose Antonio Zavala-Diaz Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Sahara Drive

San Antonio, Texas (October 29, 2020) – The man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning in San Antonio has been identified as Jose Antonio Zavala-Diaz, 36, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened around 6:45 a.m., October 22, in the 10300 block of Sahara Drive.

Police said Zavala-Diaz was standing next to his car when he was struck by a silver SUV that was traveling southeast.

The SUV fled the scene after the accident.

Zavala-Diaz was taken to University Hospital, where he later died.

The authorities are still looking for the suspect, who, if found, will face a charge of failure to stop and render aid resulting in death.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
