Man Injured in San Antonio Car Crash on US Highway 281

San Antonio, Texas (April 10, 2023) – A man was injured Sunday evening in a DWI crash in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 8:00 p.m., April 9, in the 2100 block of US Highway 281 North.

Police said the man was driving a black 2012 Volkswagen Jetta and was approaching the Josephine exit. A red Ford F-150 in the left lane attempted to pass a silver 2018 Lexus NX300 on the left shoulder, and due to the narrowing shoulder of the Ford, it ended up swerving, and it struck the Lexus.

The Ford traveled in front of the Lexus and struck the driver’s side of the Volkswagen, pushing it off the roadway and into a metal guardrail.

The Ford followed the Volkswagen into the metal guardrail until they came to rest.

The Volkswagen driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital by a family member.

The Ford driver was evaluated and booked for Intoxication Assault.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
