2 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Hwy 83 in Laredo

Teen and Man Injured in Laredo Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 83 and Piedra China

Laredo, Texas (March 5, 2023) – Two people were injured on Friday in a multi-vehicle crash in Laredo, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 11:40 p.m., March 3, on Highway 83 and Piedra China.

Authorities said a black Volkswagen Atlas SUV was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it crashed head-on into another vehicle. A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Volkswagen driver, a 16-year-old man, was taken to LMC and was later airlifted to a San Antonio hospital for treatment.

A 37-year-old man had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to LMC in serious condition.

The LPD Crimes Against Persons Investigators and the LPD Crash Team are investigating the crash.
