Father and Child Hospitalized after San Antonio Car Crash at South Loop 1604 and Campbellton Road

San Antonio, Texas (June 9, 2019) – A man in his 40s and a child were injured in a head-on collision Saturday morning at a San Antonio intersection, according to a local news release.

The crash occurred around 11:00 a.m. June 8, in the area of South Loop 1604 and Campbellton Road

Officials said the man was driving a sedan with his 8-year-old kid and he was talking on his cellphone when he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a truck.

Responding emergency crews had to extricate the man and the kid in the sedan. The kid was taken to the hospital in stable condition while the man was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. The truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
