1 Killed, 2 Injured in 3-Car Accident on Highway 290 in Austin

19-Year-Old Boy Killed, 2 Injured in Austin Crash on Highway 290
Austin, Texas (April 24, 2019) – A teenager was killed and two other people were injured Thursday morning in a traffic crash in Southwest Austin, police said.
The tragic accident occurred just before 7:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18 at 8000 W. Highway 290.
According to the police, a 2016 black Toyota 4Runner was exiting a private driveway on the highway when it turned left illegally and in the process, a westbound 2008 gray Ford Mustang swerved to avoid the 4Runner but ended up hitting its front end.
The force of the impact caused the Mustang to veer into oncoming traffic and was hit by a 2013 maroon Dodge Ram.
A 19-year-old boy, who was the driver of the Mustang, was declared deceased at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Two other people sustained unknown injuries and they declined transportation.
