1 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-On Crash on U.S. Highway 59 in Nacogdoches County

One Killed, Two Injured in Nacogdoches County Crash on U.S.Highway 59 near Garrison

Nacogdoches County, Texas (July 14, 2023) – One person was killed and two people were injured in a traffic collision in Nacogdoches County on Wednesday night, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash happened at around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 on U.S. Highway 59, about three miles south of Garrison.

Authorities said a 2018 Dodgy SUV was heading northbound on U.S. Highway 59 when it drifted into the opposite lane and collide head on with a southbound 2006 Peterbilt truck tractor.

The Peterbilt then burst into flames.

A passenger in the Dodge was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

The driver of the both vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with unknown condition.

DPS are investigating the crash.
