1 Killed, 2 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-610 North Loop in Houston

Houston, Texas – One person was killed and two others were injured Wednesday night in a multi-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash happened around 3:10 p.m., May 8, on the westbound lanes of the I-610 North Loop at Homestead.

Police said a big rig, which was hauling a bulldozer, collided with a small Mazda that was trying to switch lanes.

The big rig then lost control and the bulldozer was unattached from its trailer. The bulldozer then tumbled into the eastbound lanes where it struck two cars.

The concrete barrier in the center of the freeway was damaged during the crash.

The driver of one of the cars was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Two people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The crash closed North Loop for several hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
