One Killed, Two Injured in San Antonio Crash on O’Connor Road near Wurzbach Parkway

San Antonio, Texas (September 27, 2023) – One person was killed, and two other people were hospitalized after three-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in San Antonio, according to police.

The deadly crash happened at about 2:25 a.m. Sunday, September 24, in the 12400 block of O’Connor Road, near Wurzbach Parkway and Interstate 35, and involved three vehicles.

Police said a vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with one of the trucks, leading to the chain reaction collision.

Officers responded to the scene and found one of those vehicles in a ditch. Another vehicle was nearby and had heavy front-end damage, and the truck was lying on its side down the street.

A passenger in the car that ended up in the ditch was declared dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released.

Two people in the vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital. Three occupants of the truck lying on its side were not injured.

The driver of the truck that was struck head-on suffered minor injuries. He was arrested for DUI. It remains unclear if intoxication played a factor in the crash.

San Antonio police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
