Mayra Guevara Killed in Seguin Two-Vehicle Crash at FM 466 and FM 477; Ryan Aviles Arrested

Seguin, Texas (August 17, 2023) – A woman was killed Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Seguin, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 9:35 p.m., August 12, at the intersection of FM 466 and FM 477 near Schneider Road.

DPS said a 2017 Chevy Silverado was traveling southbound on FM 466 when it failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into a Chevy Equinox, which was traveling eastbound on FM 477.

21-year-old Mayra Noemi Guevara of Seguin was killed in the crash.

Two passengers in the Equinox, a 4-year-old and a 45-year-old woman, were also injured in the crash. The child was taken to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, while the woman was taken to BAMC in San Antonio.

The Chevy driver, 25-year-old Ryan Aviles of San Marcos, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle and two counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle causing bodily injury.

The crash remains under investigation.
