Kimberly Roberts Killed, Lonny Dewberry Injured in Head-On Crash on FM 39 in Grimes County

Kimberly Roberts Killed and Lonny Dewberry Injured in Grimes County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 39 near FM 1696

Grimes County, Texas (February 11, 2023) – One person was killed, and another was injured Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision in Grimes County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 3:30 p.m., February 9, on FM 39 just north of FM 1696.

DPS said a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the highway when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a northbound 2013 Ford F-350.

The Chevrolet driver, Kimberly Roberts, 37, of Aquilla, was killed in the crash.

The Ford driver, Lonny Dewberry, 64, from Franklin, was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan with serious injuries.

The troopers are investigating the crash.
