1 Killed, 2 Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on I-35 in Itasca

One Killed and Two Injured in Itasca Three-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35

Itasca, Texas (May 13, 2021) – One person was killed, and two others, including a police officer, were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Saturday in Itasca, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on May 8, on Interstate 35.

DPS said an Itasca police officer was conducting a traffic stop when a northbound GMC Acadia drove onto the shoulder and crashed into the patrol car.

The force of the impact pushed the patrol car into a Hyundai Tucson.

The GMC driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police officer and a passenger in the Hyundai were taken to Fort Worth hospitals for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
