Teenager Killed and Four Injured in NW Harris County Three-Vehicle Crash at Veterans Memorial Drive and Bammel North Houston Road

Harris County, Texas (December 2, 2023) – A teenager was killed and four other people were injured early Saturday morning after a chase ended in a three-vehicle crash in northwest Harris County, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 12:43 a.m., at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Drive and Bammel North Houston Road.

Police said they noticed a vehicle driving recklessly near Rankin Road and Kuykendahl Road and they tried to stop it but the driver refused. The officers then chased the vehicle and at some point during the pursuit, the suspect turned off their headlights.

When the vehicle arrived at the intersection, it struck another vehicle and lost control, before crashing into a pickup truck.

Three of the four teenagers in the car that was being chased were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Another teenager in the vehicle was trapped and was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenagers were between 16 and 17 years old.

One person in another vehicle was taken to the hospital in stable condition. 

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
