One Killed and Four Injured in Waco Three-Vehicle Crash at New Road and Huaco Lane

Waco, Texas (August 5, 2020) – One person was killed, and four others were injured Tuesday night in a three-vehicle crash in Waco, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m., August 4, at the intersection of New Road and Huaco Lane.

Police said a Toyota Prius was heading southbound on New Road when it entered the center turn lane at the same time with a Toyota Camry that was heading northbound.

The Camry and the Prius then collided head-on. The impact caused the Prius to hit a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The driver of the Camry fled the scene.

The Prius driver was taken to a local hospital where they later died.

A passenger in the Camry and the three occupants of the Tahoe were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the victims from the wreckage.

The crash remains under investigation.
