One Killed, Several Hospitalized after Houston Car Crash on Interstate 45 near Gulf Bank Road

Houston, Texas (January 29, 2023) – One person was killed and several other people, including a Harris County Sheriff’s Office sergeant, were injured in a possible head-on crash in Houston on Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The deadly wreck took place at around 5:45 a.m. on Interstate 45 near Gulf Bank Road.

Authorities said the sergeant was on his way to work when he got involved in the possible head-on collision on the northbound lanes of the interstate.

One person died in the crash. The sergeant was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.

Several other people were taken to the hospital.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
