Cody Satterfield Killed in Gaines County Motorcycle Crash on State Highway 214

Gaines County, Texas (August 12, 2023) – One person was killed on Thursday in a motorcycle crash in Gaines County, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened on August 10, on State Highway 214.

According to the report, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the highway while 37-year-old Cody Wayne Satterfield of Seminole was riding a 2017 Harley Davidson northbound. A 2016 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound behind Satterfield. 

The Ford driver failed to yield the right of way, turned left, and collided with Satterfield.

Satterfield was ejected and was struck by the Silverado.

Satterfield was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
