1 Killed in 18-Wheeler Crash on US 82 in Bowie County

One Killed in Bowie County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 82 near US 259

Bowie County, Texas (August 16, 2021) – According to the Texas DPS, one person was killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Bowie County.

The fatal crash happened around 7:00 a.m., August 14, on US 82, just west of US 259.

DPS said a 2001 Peterbilt truck-tractor towing a trailer was traveling eastbound on the highway while a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound.

The Silverado then made a turn into a parking lot and failed to yield the right-of-way to the Peterbilt, resulting in a collision.

The Silverado driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Peterbilt driver was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
