The Colony, Texas (November 6, 2020) – One person was killed in a head-on collision Thursday morning in The Colony, according to a local news source.

The fatal crash happened just before 6:30 a.m., on November 5, on Main Street (FM 423) near E. Lake Highlands Drive.

Police said a pickup truck was traveling southbound and was crossing the bridge over Lake Lewisville. The driver failed to navigate a curve in the roadway, drove over the median, and crashed head-on into a passenger vehicle and large commercial dump truck.

The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said the pickup driver might have suffered a medical emergency while driving.

The crash closed all the northbound lanes of FM 423 for several hours.

The Colony Police are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

“When a person has suffered a grave personal injury in an accident due to someone else’s negligence, the most overwhelming emotion they feel is a sense of injustice. They often ask how such a life-altering event could have happened to them,” attorney Joel A. Gordon said. “The next question usually is, who can help me?” Mr. Gordon added.
