One Killed in Carrollton Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 35E

Carrollton, Texas (May 28, 2021) – According to the police, one person was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday morning in Carrollton.

The deadly accident happened just after 6:00 a.m., May 27, on Interstate 35E.

Police said a pickup truck was attempting to enter the Express Lane when it crashed into a barrier.

The pickup truck driver then got out of the vehicle to possibly access the damage. A second vehicle hit the pickup and pushed it further into the lanes, where a motorcycle crashed into it.

The motorcyclist was killed in the crash. Their identity has not been released.

The drivers of the other two vehicles were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers said alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of the interstate at Sandy Lake Road.

The crash remains under investigation.

Most motorcycle crashes are caused by negligent drivers who don’t keep a proper lookout or fail to yield the right-of-way. Because motorcyclists are vulnerable, their injuries are usually severe, often suffering from road rash, broken bones, brain injuries, amputations, or spinal cord injuries. In some cases, the accident results in death.
