One Killed in Austin Crash on State Highway 71 near Covered Drive Bridge

Austin, Texas (October 31, 2022) – One person was killed Monday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in Austin, according to authorities.

The crash happened at about 5:15 a.m. on State Highway 71 near Covered Drive Bridge.

Several vehicles were involved in the crash.

One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. Despite life-saving measures performed by the paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5:36 a.m.

Another person was evaluated at the crash site.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
