Driver, Passenger Injured in Wichita Falls Crash on Central Freeway near Scotland Park

Wichita Falls, Texas (June 28, 2022) – Two people were injured, one critically, in a crash involving a pickup truck and possibly a tractor-trailer on Saturday evening in Wichita Falls, according to the Wichita Falls Police Department.

The collision occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25 in the 200 block of Central Freeway near Scotland Park.

According to the police report, the pickup was heading southbound in the right lane of Central Freeway when it drifted across the traffic lanes and slammed into a concrete barrier nearly head-on.

Witnesses to the authorities that the front-left side of the truck was possibly hit by a trailer before the collision.

The 60-year-old driver of the pickup sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, where they remained in critical condition as of Monday.

A passenger in the pickup suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by responding paramedics.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
