One Killed in Mesquite Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 80

Mesquite, Texas (January 30, 2023) – One person was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Mesquite, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on U.S. Highway 80.

Police said the crash involved an 18-wheeler and an SUV. 

The SUV driver was taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of the highway between Gross/Gus Thomasson Road and Big Town Boulevard.

The police are investigating the crash.
