10-Year-Old Boy Injured in Quitman Pedestrian Accident at Redbud and Highway 37 (Main Street)

Quitman, Texas (January 6, 2021) – A 10-year-old boy was struck by a semi-truck Monday evening in Quitman, a local news source reported.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m., January 4, at the intersection of Redbud and Highway 37, also known as Main Street.

According to the report, the boy was on his way to the park with four other children when he was struck by a northbound semi-truck as he was crossing the street.

The boy was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later airlifted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He is currently in stable condition.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
