Two Injured in Lubbock Two-Vehicle Crash on South Loop 289 near Slide Road

Lubbock, Texas (March 4, 2022) – Two people were injured early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Lubbock, according to the police.

The crash happened just before 4:00 a.m., in the eastbound lanes of South Loop 289 near Slide Road.

Police said a van and an SUV pulling a boat were involved in the crash.

Two people were taken to University Medical Center. One of the victims had serious injuries, while another had non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of South Loop at Slide Road and Quaker. Traffic was diverted off the South Loop at Slide. The roadway was reopened just before 8:00 a.m.

The police are investigating the crash.
