2 Killed, 1 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Hwy 73 in Jefferson County

Two Killed and One Injured in Jefferson County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 73

Jefferson County, Texas (August 23, 2023) – Two people were killed, and another was injured Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m., August 22, on Highway 73.

DPS said a Mitsubishi passenger car was traveling eastbound while a Chevrolet pickup was traveling westbound.

The Mitsubishi crossed over the grassy median into the westbound lane and was struck by the pickup.

The driver and one passenger in the Mitsubishi were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The driver of the pickup was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
