Two Killed and Two Injured in Littlefield Three-Vehicle Crash on US 84

Littlefield, Texas (July 14, 2021) – Two people were killed, and two others were injured Tuesday evening in a three-vehicle crash near Littlefield, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened just before 5:00 p.m., July 13, on US Highway 84.

Police said a White Honda Accord was attempting to cross westbound US Highway 84 when it ran a stop sign and was struck by a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia semi-tractor and trailer.

The driver of the Freightliner tried to miss the Honda and sideswiped a Bailey County EMS ambulance as it was attempting to pass the truck.

The Honda driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His 2-year-old daughter was airlifted to Covenant Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, where she later died. The driver’s wife was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The Bailey County EMS crew was taken to Lamb Healthcare Center with light to moderate injuries.

The authorities are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
