Man Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on East Oltorf Street

Austin, Texas (December 19, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a bus on Friday in Austin, according to the police

The accident happened around 7:34 p.m. December 13, near the 2000 block of East Oltorf Street.

According to a preliminary investigation, a Capital Metro bus was traveling westbound, and it stopped to let a few passengers exit.

The man exited the bus through the rear door and was on the sidewalk when he stumbled backward and fell between the curb and the back portion of the bus. The bus hit him as it started driving away.

The man was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center, where he later died.
