2 Dies in Richardson Car Accident on President George Bush Turnpike near Midway Road

Richardson, Texas (June 27, 2019) – Two people were killed early Thursday morning in a traffic accident in Richardson, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27 on the President George Bush Turnpike between Shiloh and Renner Roads.

According to the DPS, a Honda was traveling down the roadway when its driver decided to make a U-turn onto the westbound lanes near Midway Road.

The Honda then continued traveling eastbound on the westbound lanes. Moments later, the Honda collided head-on with a black Ford Taurus.

The driver of the Honda suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was taken to Medical City Plano where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
