2 Killed, 2 Critically Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on I-45 in Spring

Two Killed and Two Injured in Spring Two-Vehicle Crash on I-45 near Rayford Road

Spring, Texas (August 1, 2021) – According to the authorities, two women were killed, and two other people were critically injured early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash in Spring.

The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 (North Freeway), just north Rayford Road.

Authorities said they had received calls about a Honda that was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the freeway, and as they searched for the vehicle, they found that it had crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

The Honda driver, a 25-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 22-year-old female passenger in the pickup truck was trapped for about 20 minutes. She was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The pickup driver and another passenger were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

The victims’ identities have not been released.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
