2 Killed in Plane Crash on Highway 7 in Center

Two Killed in Shelby County Plane Crash on Highway 7 near Center Municipal Airport

Shelby County, Texas (May 21, 2020) – Two people were killed Wednesday evening in a plane crash in Center, according to the FAA.

The crash was reported around 4:40 p.m. May 20, on Highway 7, just south of the Center Airport.

FAA said a single-engine Cessna 206 aircraft was on final approach to land at the airport when it crashed into a wooded area behind Watson and Sons Funeral Home, about a quarter-mile south of the airport.

Two people were killed in the crash. Their identities have not been released.

The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the crash.
