2 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 288 in Houston

Two Killed in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 288

Houston, Texas (December 23, 2020) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash Tuesday night in Houston, according to police.

The fatal crash happened just before 11:00 p.m., December 22, on the newly-opened Highway 288 express tollway.

Police said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it crashed head-on into another vehicle.

The force if the impact flipped the wrong-way vehicle.

Both the wrong-way driver and her passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released.

The other driver was trapped in her vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with serious leg injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
