2-Month-Old Girl Dies after Amarillo Car Crash on Interstate 27 at 34th Avenue
Amarillo, Texas (April 9, 2019) – The 2-month-old girl who was injured Sunday in a traffic crash in Amarillo has died, according to a local news source.
The accident happened on Interstate 27, just south under the 34th Avenue overpass Sunday, April 7.
As per the report, a 21-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus and was in the left lane with a flat tire when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Hyundai Sante Fe, driven by a 28-year-old woman.
The force of the impact caused the Hyundai to spin around and collide head-on with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 24-year-old woman.
The 2-month-old girl, who was a passenger in the Taurus, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Another small child and a 19-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries and were also transported to the hospital.
The Silverado driver and a 23-year-old male passenger were not injured in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
