Sarah Dearmond ID’d as Woman Killed in Lubbock Car Accident at Slide Road and 13th Street
Lubbock, Texas (March 10, 2019) – Police have identified the woman who was killed last month in a two-vehicle collision in Lubbock as Sarah Dearmond, 19.
The horrific crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at the intersection of Slide Road and 13th Street.
According to police,  a car was heading westbound on 13th Street when for an unknown reason it collided with a pickup truck driven northbound on Slide Road by  Anthony Puente, 20.
Dearmond, who was the front passenger of the car, was taken to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Another occupant in the car sustained major and was also taken to a hospital.
Puente, who was the sole occupant of the pickup truck, sustained minor injuries. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on charges of intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault and possession of marijuana.
The crash remains under investigation.
