Ricardo Vasquez ID’d as Man Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Callaghan Road
San Antonio, Texas (January 22, 2019) – The man who was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday night on the Northwest Side has been identified as Ricardo Vasquez,60, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. January 20, in the 6900 block of Callaghan Road.
Police said a witness was following a drunk driver identified as Osis Alonso Rodriguez, 21, and saw him hit Vasquez.
The witness found Vasquez dead at the scene.
Rodriguez fled the scene after the accident.
The authorities later found Rodriguez’ vehicle at an apartment complex near the Medical Center and arrested Rodriguez on charges of failure to stop and render aid and intoxication manslaughter.
The police are investigating the crash.
