2 Officers Injured in DWI Crash on Ronald Reagan Blvd in Leander; Joel Ramirez Arrested

Two Police Officers Injured in Leander Two-Vehicle Crash on Ronald Reagan Boulevard; Joel Ramirez Arrested

Leander, Texas (October 6, 2022) – Two police officers were injured Tuesday night in a DWI crash in Leander, according to the police.

The crash happened around 11:00 p.m., October 4, in the 17700 block of Ronald Reagan Blvd, just north of Hero Way.

Police said the two officers were inside their patrol vehicle and were parked on the shoulder of the roadway, running radar, when their vehicle was rear-ended by a suspected drunk driver.

Both officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The other driver, Joel Ramirez, 38, was arrested on a DWI charge and was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

The police are investigating the crash.
